OUR MISSION
We are a family of individuals, united by our faith in God, working together to share the message of Jesus Christ in the Wenatchee Valley and striving to become more like Him everyday.

We believe
GOD is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
THE HOLY SPIRIT is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
THE BIBLE is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
SALVATION is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.

Cornerstone Staff

OUR PASTOR
Hi, I am Marty Fenton and I married Sheryl in 1983. It is the best thing I ever did! I love Wenatchee and serving at Cornerstone Christian Church.
I was born in Goldendale Washington and Sheryl was born in Grand Prairie Alberta. Both of us accepted Jesus Christ pretty early in life. We have five children and 13 grandchildren. We love spending time with the grandchildren. In addition to celebrating birthdays and holidays with them we also enjoy doing grandkid sleepovers, playing games riding horses, camping, gardening and just doing life with them.

MARTY FENTON
Living in Wenatchee has brought us back to our experiences of our growing up years. We live in a rural area in East Wenatchee and are enjoying building a ranch from vacant land. We garden, harvest wildlife, raise animals for meat and preserve vegetables and fruit. Much of this is applying practices we learned from our parents and grandparents. We’re not preppers – I think we’re just old-school and enjoy doing what we still know.

We began in ministry in our dating years! I know, sounds weird but we both enjoyed volunteering at church teaching children when we first met. We committed to one another and to God to never stop sharing the gospel as a married couple. We continued this for the first ten years of married life, then received a call from God to be in full-time ministry. The transition was tough because we had three children at the time. But God made a way. We began in full-time ministry in 1992 in Beaverton Or, and then in Lake Stevens, Wa. Our roots in ministry are deeply connected to what Paul wrote about Ephesians 3.10-12, God’s plan is to make Jesus Christ known to people everywhere. This is what we feel God called us to when we were in high school and what he called us to as a married couple.

Our passion is still the same. Our vision for Cornerstone is to raise up believers who can share Jesus Christ and join with us in ministry to make Jesus known in the Greater Wenatchee Valley. So much has happened since 2016 when we began at Cornerstone and with God’s help we will continue to make Him known. If you or someone you know is reaching out to God, we want to encourage you. God is reaching out to you and wants you to follow Him! This journey we’re on begins with making Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. Contact us at Cornerstone. We invite you to join us in ministry to make Jesus known! You can contact us at 509-885-8177.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
SHERYL FENTON
Hi, I’m Sheryl Fenton. I am the Children’s Director at Cornerstone Christian Church.

I am married to Marty Fenton. We have five children and 13 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with family, gardening, canning, making quilts, and cooking. I also really like to ride ATVs, snowmobiles, horses and my tractor. I was born in Grand Prairie, Alberta Canada, my parents were missionaries there for a short time. I grew up in the church, my Dad was a minister and we all were a part of a healthy church environment. For me, I really liked being a part of the church where there were people who loved me and cared for me. Some of my earliest favorite childhood memories are of Sunday school and Bible club teachers who showed me who Jesus is. I remember the day I gave my life to Jesus when I was six years old. I am so thankful for the positive Christian environment I grew up in and want to help others raise their children with the same opportunities.

The first class I remember teaching was a group of 4 and 5 year old children at my church in 1972, I was in the sixth grade at the time. I learned that children love to learn and are eager to participate. I love children and the opportunity to see them discover that God loves them! Over the years I’ve seen countless lives changed because of dedicated people at church who cared for children and had passion to invest in their lives. Naturally, I believe the church should be a place where children experience God’s love and the truth of who Jesus is in the lives of people there. Cornerstone Kids is that kind of place. I want children to look back and say the church they grew up in was some of their favorite memories. I am so excited about the teachers and volunteers at Cornerstone Christian Church who invest their time in showing children who Jesus is. I believe God uses us to help others and as we yield to God he helps us grow in our faith and walk in him.

WORSHIP DIRECTOR
PENNY ENGEL
Hi, my name is Penny Engel! I was born in Bellevue, WA and spent most of my life in Western Washington, with about five years out of country while growing up. I moved to Wenatchee in the fall of 2021 to be near my family and it did not take long to fall in love with the area and the people.

By day I am the Insurance Coordinator for a small dental office in Leavenworth. Besides my love for music - in my off time - you'll find me spending time with family and friends. I do love to travel, especially anywhere tropical - Hawaii and the Caribbean being my top spots. While I love all seasons, my favorites have always been the ones that I don't have to wear a coat or shoes.
